Playdough Flowers
Create some bright play dough sunflowers by creating your very own play dough cutters. Play dough is a great way to improve finger strength and fine motor skills. This activity also gives your children the opportunity to be creative.
Set Up
For this activity I used our yellow playdough and black beans from our Mini Beasts Activity Box. I also added some greenery from the garden and two toilet rolls which I flattened slightly so that they would create petal shapes. I created my own sunflower to show the girls what I had in mind.
This made a great post school activity for M as we all sat around playing with the dough which is wonderfully soothing. I had a vision in mind of what the sunflowers would look like and the girls did initially take inspiration from my sunflower but then they got creative and starting making impressions into the play dough using whatever they could get their hands on. I enjoyed how this activity became a quiet and soothing activity that we could all take part in together.
