Detectives
Here are our top tips for completing the fun, educational and detective-themed activities from our Detectives box. These Detective-themed activities are inspired by the brilliant picture book The Elephant Detective.
Head to our shop to get everything you need for these activities and a signed copy of the book!
Elephant Hunt
Try and set this activity whilst your child is distracted so that they don’t see where you have hidden the clues.
Tell them that their elephant has gone missing and leave the envelope with the first clue somewhere they will find it.
Balloon Biscuits
You can add flavourings such as vanilla or lemon zest when mixing the dough together.
Afterwards, your child could decorate these biscuits with icing or melted chocolate!
Invisible Ink
Try to wait as long as possible to ensure that the paper has completely dried before putting it in the oven.
Playdough Balloons
Use your balloon-shaped biscuit cutter to stamp out playdough balloons.
Decorate your balloons with any loose parts you may have.
Secret Messages
Write your top-secret message with a white crayon.
Paint over the piece of paper with watercolour paints to reveal your top-secret message.
Elephant Small World
Small world play is great for developing children’s imagination and language too.
It works with whatever you have to hand. Playdough, leftover sundries or cereals or sensory rice all work well.
