Finger Print Christmas Tree Cards

This is an easy toddler Christmas card idea to try at home and works particularly well with toddlers and older kids who enjoy painting with their hands!

Easy Toddler Christmas Card Idea

Set Up

So this Toddler Christmas Card idea is really simple to set up. I drew a simple Christmas tree outline on the card, chose only a limited number of coloured ink pads and it was ready.

My two children needed no invitation to start this Christmas card and I had to slow my toddler down as she was keen to get all the colours open and get started. F needed help learning how to stamp her finger down onto the card as opposed to wiping her finger. M was very keen for the finger prints to all be lined up nicely and certain colours to go in certain places. But once I showed her the effectiveness when it was slightly more random, she followed suit too.

I think this is a great Christmas card idea for toddlers as it is great for their fine motor skills and strengthening fingers. It does take a little practice to get the art of finger painting perfect but older toddlers will enjoy this and create highly effective Christmas cards. And I love that although F’s card is by no means perfect it is created by her and her little fingers prints will be a treasured as a keepsake for years to come.
