Dotty Sticker Christmas Cards

My two absolutely love dotty stickers and creating things with them. So a Christmas card craft involving them was a must. They are no mess, easy to use making them perfect for toddlers and older kids alike. They are also great for working on those fine motor skills!

Set Up

We had been reading Jane Foster’s Christmas Book, which is a great first Christmas book, and so I left it for inspiration as to how their Christmas tree might look. For this Christmas card craft idea your toddlers will need dotty stickers, which we use for a whole host of activities, and blank white cards. I drew an outline of a Christmas tree onto the white card to help them create the shape of a tree.

My two, including my younger toddler, needed no instructions when they saw this Christmas card craft set up. They both just got straight to work and it was great to see them busy creating. By limiting the choice of coloured dots that I left out, I hoped that even if they couldn’t keep to the Christmas tree shape, the card would still look festive.

My children really enjoyed this Christmas card craft idea and there was no mess at all and really quick to tidy up afterwards. My eldest enjoyed it so much that she went on to create another card by herself later on. So simple but highly effective and great for toddlers’ and preschoolers’ fine motor skill development.
